About Summit Foods
Microwaveable snack products from Summit Foods are now found in nearly all the leading multiples, and our burgers and sausages are used throughout the foodservice sector.
The company was founded in 1981 by two experienced butchers with the ethos of producing meat products that combined consistent quality with good value. We have stayed true to that philosophy ever since and our customers know that at the heart of all our products is a dedication to customer satisfaction.
Committed to the highest standards of food safety and quality, the business has consistently maintained Grade 'A' BRC EFSIS Accreditation. Download the certificate (PDF format 2.8Mb)
From our early days supplying exclusively caterers with burgers and sausages, we have developed a hugely successful frozen snack products range. Around half of this is sold under our own Snacksters brand, currently stocked by Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Iceland, Farm Foods and Netto.
Starting with the classic microwaveable cheeseburger in a bun, the Snacksters brand extends to universally popular and convenient products like filled doner kebabs, southern fried chicken burgers, and bacon butties.
While setting its sights firmly on the fast-evolving convenience foods sector, Summit has kept its roots firmly in the meat business. All the meat products used in the Snacksters range are made on the premises from quality ingredients, employing the skills established by the original founders of the company.
The company also has a long tradition of supplying food manufacturers with meat-based products, and continues to develop its foodservice business, particularly with fully-cooked products.
Steady investment over the years has increased capacity, and Summit is now able to produce well over 100,000 fully-cooked, flame grilled burgers a day.
